June Day Camp!!!

Each Saturday in June Indiana Horse Rescue had day horse camp.  This day event was open for children ages 7-16, no horse experience necessary!!  It was held in Frankfort, IN at the horse rescue facility.

The goal of this camp was to introduce children to the world of horses and to teach them about the responsibilities involved in owning a large animal. The program was designed for any child who wanted to gain experience and confidence around horses. The campers learned basic skills in horsemanship such as groundwork, grooming, saddling and riding.

This camp was a group-centered program. An adult Ranger encouraged positive attitudes at all times.  Upon arriving at the camp, the campers met his or her Ranger and other group participants.

We had Gatorade, water and hot dogs available for the campers free of charge throughout the day.

Campers were required to wear a T-shirt, jeans and sturdy shoes.
They could NOT wear shorts, sandals or flip-flops for safety reasons.

There was no charge for this event, however, donations are always welcome!

Can you help so we can have a free horse camp in 2005?  It was quite costly and while we know we touched so many children, it was over $175.00 for each of the camps we held.  Any donations would be greatly appreciated!!

Pictures of the camp are being listed as quick as possible!
