Cherokee
This boy has had a rough life, he was born extremely
large (tall)! We were warned not to feed him any additives to
"help him grow" as they could seriously hurt him. He had colic surgery as a yearling,
he tore off 3/4 of his eyelid (sewn
back successfully) as
a 2 yr old, and on and on...... He will
be used in therapy and training.

Cricket
We've had a lot of offers for this old
girl. She is used for training & testing new volunteers and of
course - the occasional fun!! She is well over 20 and very well
broke, which is always needed for the rescue farm.

Egypt
This boy is so lucky! He came to us
due to a problem with rearing up on his owner. He has been
retrained, but still has a few stunts for you. Unfortunately he also
has other issues which is why he is a permanent resident at the
rescue. He is great for teaching and for kids that come to see the
horses as part of their counseling. Can you help with his care?

Hannah
This lady is a lady indeed. While
her personality is very special, she can not be ridden. She is used
as a foster horse to stay with other horses and be their friend or used to
teach others to groom and handle a horse. Just because she can not
be ridden does not mean she has no use. She is a very special horse!

Rippey (Rippon
Lancer)
Rippey is an older Standardbred gelding that has been here for many
years. He is under constant watch due to thyroid problems. He
will be
used for education and therapy as he is very polite on the ground. Who says a Standardbred
won't canter?
Can you help keep
this big boy here?

Rusty
This young man may be blind, but don't
let that fool you! He sees more than most horses that have their
sight. Rusty will stay as a permanent resident to help those that
need him. Thanks to generous gifts he will soon have a special fence
put up that allows him to spend more time outdoors!

Thunderwood Dragon
This great horse has issues that are being dealt
with. Due to previous problems the Board of Directors will not
release him for adoption. He will stay to be used for education
purposes at the rescue.

Joey
Joey is a very special permanent
resident. He\is job is to guard the horses - and that is exactly
what he does. He keeps stray animals away from the horses, never
allows other dogs to chase them - and he does not allow the horses to
wander should they go through the fence. Joey came to us as a rescue
dog, but we never dreamed he would be so special. He is available
for petting during business hours and he will remind you if you forget
(dirty paws and all)!!

Times are tight!! Our feed expenses run over $4000.00 per
month! It is a huge financial and physical strain. We depend
on our many dedicated volunteers. Please consider adopting your next horse, we
greatly appreciate all of those who have adopted and supported our efforts to
date!
Anything will
help! A bag a feed, a bale of hay, a tube of de-wormer? As a sponsor,
you will get a picture of me and a certificate showing you are a Sponsor. As a rescue facility, we get a lot of older horses and special
needs horses that people just can't care for anymore. Any donation, no
matter how small goes directly to the care and feeding of rescue horses.
All work is done on a volunteer basis.
