Indiana
Horse Rescue requires all adopters to:

Become
a Member

Complete our
Adoption/Foster
Application
>>The Application can be filled out online

Submit two
Personal References
>>Personal Reference can not
be family members, must know the applicant
for more than 1 year and have first hand
knowledge and observe the care of the
applicants current animals.

Submit a
Veterinary Reference
>>May be a current
veterinarian or one the applicant plans to
use for the adopted horse.

Submit photos of
the facility where the horse(s) will be
housed

Adopting?
Please Read This First:
-
If you
want a bombproof horse, great
with kids, never spooks or one
that is always ready to be
ridden and "may do well in
jumping or ......", we do not
want to be rude, but odds are
this is the WRONG place. We get
many horses in that will be
great for first time horse
owners, but be patient, it
will be worth the wait.

Be
Realistic - Rescues often take
in horses that no one else
would, they often have issues,
physical and/or psychological in
nature. There are many
exceptions, but a bombproof
horse or one able to jump well
is NOT a normal rescue horse.
Please keep this in mind with
your requests.

Rescue
horse are not free, be prepared
to pay an adoption donation.
Adoption donations vary and all
prospective adoptive homes will
go through an approval process
before a horse can be placed. We
do our best to serve the horse
and the adopter. All donations
are tax deductible as allowed by
law or your personal
circumstances.
