Sefacon™ Actual Testimonials: |
|
The following are testimonials that we have received from our grateful participants. It is these stories that provide us with inspiration and motivation, to continue our quest of improving the health of equine everywhere.
After reading about EPM we realized the symptoms our
horse Doc was displaying, we needed to get Doc tested. He tested positive. He
was no longer trotting or cantering in a straight line nor was he the horse we
knew him to be. We did not hesitate to use the Sefacon™ supplement and now we
can not believe the difference in him. He now trots in a straight line, and is
so much more nimble than before the Sefacon™.

Scarlet was used by our daughter in our local 4H horse
and pony club in 2004. This winter we noticed she had lost much of her spirit,
she just was not the same horse we had known. Since finding out about the EPM
and Scarlet testing positive, we are so thankful we were able to treat her with
Sefacon™, she is back to her old self! Scarlet is less agitated and more
willing to please. Thank you for Sefacon™! UPDATE 5/10/05 Sarah got to
have an actual training session with Scarlet on Tuesday and she did GREAT!!!!!
Ever since we got her, she has "crow hopped" when Sarah tried to push
her past a trot. She did not crow hop even once on Tuesday!! Sarah is so
excited!!!

My veterinarian diagnosed Glen with EPM in 2004. After
having him tested again and treated with Sefacon™, we noticed he was no longer
dragging his back legs, which he had been doing for 2 years. We can not believe
the difference this has made; he has never been better! Since treating him with
Sefacon™ he is great now, back to jumping 3'6" and is strong and healthy.
Great improvement in a short time, he is back showing and has made a complete
recovery.

When Galaxy was diagnosed with EPM we were crushed. The
diagnosis was confirmed with a Western Blot and we were crushed again. She was
treated with Sefacon™ and we were shocked at the rate of improvement. I would
recommend this to anyone! The sick little filly we had has turned into the
strong horse we longed to see. We can not believe the difference the Sefacon™
has made in her. As a Registered Vet Tech I have seen the other end of the
spectrum, and thank Endocrine for Sefacon™.

Isaac's pasture mate went down and was never able to
get up. Since the vet suggested it might be EPM we decided to have Isaac tested.
After a positive Western Blot the diagnosis was confirmed. We didn't think we
had anywhere to turn, but then heard what the horse rescue was doing with
Sefacon™ and begged to give it a try. Isaac came home a different horse! He is
now spunkier, has more energy and better mobility. He has gained weight faster
than ever thanks to the Sefacon™!

My first experience with EPM was devastating. I lost my first horse to it in January of 1998. I had noticed my horse walking a little off in the back and had experienced some stumbling at a canter. I called my vet to have him checked out. A spinal tap was done on a Thursday and by the following Monday, I had to put this wonderful horse down. We hadn't even gotten the results back from the spinal tap. I had spent many hours researching EPM on the Internet trying to learn more about this disease to be aware of the symptoms in case my 2 other horses would come down with it as well.
Within a month of Bailey's death, my Arabian exhibited symptoms. His spinal tap came back a moderate positive. I then had my yearling Quarter Horse tested, too. His came back in the "gray area" positive. I had no choice but to treat both horses. They were treated with Disulfapyrimethamine 20cc daily with folic acid and 10,000 I.U.S. of vitamin E. The Arabian was treated for a total of 12 months. The yearling Quarter Horse was treated for about 6 months. I had the false sense of security that my horses were cured and I would never have to worry about losing another horse to EPM.
I
couldn't have been more wrong. My yearling Quarter Horse is now 8 years old and
I started noticing a few quirks he had. He failed a couple of the Mayhew tests
for coordination and I had him tested again, another positive. I was scared. I
had him treated with Sefacon™ for 10 days. I cannot begin to explain the
differences in my horse after his treatment. When the treatment was complete I
looked at some of his deficits. On Monday evening, he was still not placing his
back right foot correctly when crossing over. On the following Thursday, I was
showing another horse owner the symptoms so I had him do a tight circle, I could
not believe that he was moving the back right foot correctly and with more
coordination, I was in total amazement. The Saturday of that same week, I took
him for a ride in my fields. When I asked for a canter, he took a couple of
steps before breaking out into a full-blown bronco riding buck. Any other time,
I might have wanted to ship him off to the trainer or send him down the road. I
have to admit that I was just happy that he could do it without either one of us
getting hurt. I have seen a big change in this horse overall. He is a lot
peppier when he is turned out each day! I am just thrilled that I can now know
that EPM is no longer a threat to my horses.

Rocky is back on the show circuit! He placed in his
first outdoor show! We are very happy and thankful for the help of Sefacon™ in getting our
horse back.

When Sweetie came off the trailer I would never have
believed she would be able to be ridden. This sweetheart of a mare was in bad
condition. After getting her "land legs" she was evaluated again and
failed the Mayhew test. After a S. Neurona antibody test showing high
positive for EPM we gave her the Sefacon™ for 10 days. I can not believe it
nor would I have believed it if I had not seen it myself. This girl is a sweetie
and is loved by everyone - thanks to Sefacon™ - we have a safe sound horse
again that has been used post treatment for riding lessons.

Nicky could not back out of the trailer when he arrived
at the rescue, nor could he walk in a straight line. He showed no emotions. We
were told he fell down in his stall multiple times. This horse had all but given
up; his head was always down he no longer cared. He obviously failed the Mayhew
exam and tested high positive for S. Neurona antibodies, confirmed by an
outside lab. The big question was whether or not to use our meager resources to
treat this horse with Sefacon™. The decision was made and we gave him the
Sefacon™. Today he holds his head high with pride and is one of the most
loving horses we know. He is still not sound to ride due to injuries sustained
in one of his many falls; however, we thank Sefacon™ for giving Nicky back his
health and his dignity.
